Law firm Carey Olsen has announced major changes to its executive leadership team in its 125th anniversary year.
The changes will see a new group chair and managing partners with effect from 1 July.
Current group Managing Partner Alex Ohlsson, who has led the firm's international expansion, will become group Chairman, succeeding John Kelleher who has served more than 12 years in the role and will remain as a partner in the Jersey litigation team.
The new group managing partners will be Bermuda-based Michael Hanson and Jersey-based Simon Marks.
Mr Ohlsson said: "On behalf of the partnership, I would like to thank John for his commitment, professionalism and wise counsel as chairman. He leaves an admirable legacy that I will work hard to continue.
“In six years, Mr Hanson has built Carey Olsen Bermuda into a market-leading firm, achieving widespread industry recognition.
“Mr Marks holds board-level responsibility for Carey Olsen's people and talent strategy and has been instrumental in driving the firm's success.I look forward to continuing to work with both Michael and Simon. They are excellent leaders and will play key roles in shaping the future of the firm."
Mr Marks is also being appointed as Jersey managing partner.
