TMF Group appoints new Head of Funds in Guernsey

A new Head of Funds in Guernsey has been appointed by the TMF Group, who will join the Channel Islands Executive Committee.

Damien Fitzgerald, previously a Commercial Director for the Guernsey office, is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Ireland, and has worked with several Guernsey-based administrators.

His previous experience includes leading TMF Guernsey’s fund accounting team, operating audit committees and corporate governance reporting. 

As the Head of Funds, Mr Fitzgerald will be responsible for driving the company’s funds strategy, in particular building on the recent acquisitions of State Street’s Channel Island Fund Services in 2019, and Guernsey Gentoo in 2017.

“Damien’s skill set and experience, as well as his deep knowledge of funds, make him the ideal person for this leadership role,” said Cengiz Somay, Managing Director for the Channel Islands. 

“He will work closely with his counterpart in Jersey, as well as other funds leaders across TMF Group’s international network, to further strengthen the group’s funds offering.”

With 160 specialists working for TMF Group across the Channel Islands, Mr Somay said that the team is "at the centre" of their strategy moving forward.

“Our growth plans mean we will continue to recruit key specialists, bringing new jobs to the islands, and further strengthening our capacity and expertise in this area,” he said.
