TISE raises thousands for charity

Staff at The International Stock Exchange (TISE) have raised more than £18,000 in support of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation (PPBF).

The organisation was chosen by TISE employees as their ‘charity of choice’ for 2023 which was the 25th anniversary of TISE and the 20th anniversary of the PPBF.

Laura Cornelius, Head of HR at TISE, said they organised a series of activities during the year to raise funds for the PPBF, including raffles, sweepstakes, a cake sale, as well as hosting a quiz night and an afternoon tea for nearly 100 guests. The funds raised were then matched by TISE, which made an extra donation of £2,500 to reflect that it was celebrating its 25th anniversary year.

“We are so pleased to have been able to help the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation by raising this significant sum for the charity during what was a milestone year for both organisations. It is great to see our team come together through various activities and have such a fun time while also raising funds for such a worthy cause. I hope that the money raised will be of real benefit to the charity in its work to assist local families with premature babies and sick children.”

Separately, during the year, TISE also purchased 25 nights as part of PPBF’s ‘Buy a night’ initiative, helping to safeguard the three, home-from-home, compassionate flats next to Southampton Hospital for Channel Island families going through difficult times.

Jo Priaulx, Co-Founder at PPBF, said: “We are delighted to receive all this support from TISE. We need to raise £156,000 every year to continue to assist families in their hour of need so I would like to thank everyone at TISE for their generosity. This funding will go a significant way to ensuring that each of Aggie’s Burrow, Isaac’s pad and Frankie’s Den can be kept open during 2024.”

TISE has also made donations to similar charities in Dublin, Jersey and London, which are the other locations where it has staff based.

To mark its 25th anniversary, during last year staff at TISE undertook 25 separate activities to support their local communities. As well as those activities raising money for PPBF, staff participated the Sure Guernsey Marathon, the Saffery Rotary Walk, and the Canaccord Genuity Inter-Firm Relay, as well as a tree planting scheme organised through Jersey Finance. In addition, TISE sponsored the Guernsey Women’s football team, Guernsey netballer McKenzie Rich, the Island Games sailing competition, world championship sailor Andrew Bridgman, and Vauvert Primary School’s Dragon Den competition.

The staff at TISE have chosen Safer, a Guernsey charity that supports and empowers those experiencing domestic abuse, as their charity of choice for 2024.
