Sydney Charles continue sponsoring Art for Guernsey

Wednesday 22 August 2018

Sydney Charles have announced they have renewed their sponsorship with Art for Guernsey for 2018/19.

Art for Guernsey, established in 2015, is a charitable initiative committed to developing Guernsey’s art and education, creating opportunities for islanders to discover art and dedicated to supporting the local community.

As a key partner, Sydney Charles’ sponsorship will help support projects like The Children’s Library renovation at Guile-Alles Library, provide scholarships for The Royal Drawing School and further develop The Princess Elizabeth Hospital along with many more worthy causes.

Last year Art for Guernsey and Sydney Charles contributed to the transformation of the X-Ray room of The PEH.

Creating a relaxing environment to put young patients at ease, they collaborated with Arts for Impact to redesign the medical space into a spaceship. This year the charity will continue to add decoration and artwork to The PEH, collaborating with nurses and doctors to transform their rehabilitation unit into a more colourful space with the hope that it incentivizes service users to physically explore the area and improve their recovery time.

The Summer Exhibition this year will feature the international artist in residence Dimitri Permiakov, showcasing a wide variety of his locally produced artwork. The Market Square show will be on open from 19 to 29 September and all revenues from the event will be donated or invested back into local charitable projects selected by Art for Guernsey.
