Survey aims to help guide careers advice

Friday 15 December 2023

Careers Guernsey is collating opinions of as many people as possible so it can ensure its services are being targeted correctly.

As the island’s 'free and impartial all-age careers service', Careers Guernsey aims to support all individuals wanting to navigate opportunities and changes throughout their lives.

That can include a change of career, those looking to return to work or returning to learning and wanting to develop their skills, as well as school and university leavers looking for their first employment role.

Richard Vivian, Adult Guidance Manager at Careers Guernsey, said the survey will help them ensure their guidance meets current needs.

“During the last few years there have been some huge shifts in the way people view career and work in general," he explained.

"The changes brought upon us by the need to work longer before retirement, the disruption and subsequent changes in working practices brought or accelerated by the pandemic and the rise of Artificial Intelligence within the labour market means that we all need to carefully consider how we manage our careers now and in the future. “

The survey can be accessed HERE and is open until January.
