The Skipton Swimarathon has thanked businesses for their contribution this year's record breaking total at a special Corporate Awards event.
Firms who took part in the Corporate Awards Scheme donated 25% of the £59,000 collected so far.
The awards presentation took place at Moores Hotel, which recently supported this year's main beneficiary - the Cardiac Action Group - by installing a Public Access Defibrillator.
Gold Awards were handed out to Skipton International, which sponsors the event, as well as Grow Limited and Collas Crill, who each raised more than £1,500. Sarnia Hotels Group, KPMG, Alternative Solutions and Credit Suisse received Silver Awards for collection more than £1,000, with nine further businesses collecting a Bronze Award for contributing funds over £500.

"We've had a 30% increase from last year in corporate organisations wanting to participate in our Corporate Award Scheme in the Swimarathon, which is really encouraging," said Chairman of the Skipton Swimarathon Committee, Nick Guillemette.
"Particular mention should go to Grow Limited who have supported the Corporate Awards since the beginning and who have set a great example of what a small business can achieve, having won a Gold Award on each occasion."
A cheque for £25,000 was presented to Mike Froome from the Cardiac Action Group, which will go towards free island-wide training on the usage of PADs for a further year.
So far, the charity has installed 60 PADs around the island and, thanks to heightened awareness, five of these have been used to resuscitate cardiac arrest victims.
