'Sign up now' says Saffery and Rotary

The organisers and sponsor of the annual round-island walk are encouraging potential participants to sign up now - to take advantage of the early-bird rate during January.

Saffery Rotary Walk Chairman, Simon Milsted said if being more active is one of your New Year’s resolutions, you can sign up for the ‘Early Bird’ discounted registration fee of £32.

“The Walk makes for a fantastic New Year’s resolution, conquering a challenge that is both physical and mental.

“But more than that, registration now encourages walkers to get out and enjoy our fantastic network of island and coastal footpaths during the months ahead.

“The determination of our participants is truly admirable, and we encourage walkers, both old and new, to kick the year off by resolving to improve their own exercise regime and also to come together in June to help make this another record-breaking Walk.”

This year's Walk will take place on Saturday 8 June with full details and the registration link HERE.

Saffery Trust is the event sponsor meaning money raised by the walkers goes to a number of different charities each year.

“We hope to see lots of interest from the community and a willingness to participate in this year’s Walk," said Saffery Trust Director Lisa Vizia. "Our walkers continue to amaze and inspire, and we want this year to be no different.

“Begin your training journey now by signing up for the Walk. Completing the challenge is not only a fantastic personal achievement, but one that will benefit a variety of charities island wide.”
