Saffery Champness has been named as one of five finalists in the Trust Company of the Year (mid-size firm) in the 2018 STEP Private Client Awards.
STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning, their Private Client Awards highlight excellence among private client solicitors, attorneys, accountants, barristers, bankers, trustees and financial advisors.
The awards are open for both STEP members and non-members and are assessed by an independent panel of expert judges. This year saw over 250 entries from 23 countries, and many of the categories were heavily subscribed. The judges only shortlisted the most outstanding in each category and submissions that made the shortlist were those that really showed why the firm was genuinely different or innovative.
Saffery Champness Registered Fiduciaries, which employs more than 120 staff in Guernsey and 20 staff in Geneva is one of the largest independent providers of fiduciary services on the island, providing clients with a wide variety of services including estate planning, wealth protection, investment structuring and corporate services.
Lisa Vizia, director of Saffery Champness in Guernsey said: “The STEP Private Client Awards are seen as the hallmark of quality within the private client industry. They recognise the highest professional standards and levels of client service so it’s a fantastic achievement to make the final five for Trust Company of the Year, especially as we celebrated our 40th anniversary last year.
“We have a commitment to developing our staff so this is great recognition for all of them, it really shows that we are continuing to employ the highest standard of staff.”
This year has also seen Saffery Champness listed as a Top Trust Company by Eprivateclient and shortlisted for Trust Company of the Year-Guernsey at the Citywealth IFC Awards.
