Polygon Collective has expanded its commercial property portfolio with the acquisition of Bucktrout House in what it has said is a vote of confidence in the future of Guernsey's economy.
Deputy Chairman Alex Belcher said the acquisition of Bucktrout House, located on the South Esplanade, "confirms the confidence the collective has in the future of the Guernsey economy" and comes at a time when inward investment in Guernsey is extremely important.
It also has a lease with an option to purchase on Les Vardes House in La Charroterie and the plan is to modernise and re-fit both buildings in tandem using local contractors.
"We continue to see real demand in bespoke yet flexible and affordable office space," he said.

"Our model is to create smart spaces for businesses to thrive, meet and work in as part of a community. Spaces which are designed and equipped to enable anyone from start-ups to established businesses to connect, collaborate and grow.
"It will also be the first inter-island space, whereby tenants can freely use the facilities between the islands as a hub for meetings, work and presentations."
Founder and Chairman of Polygon, Martin Belcher, said 90% of the collective's business portfolio lies in Guernsey or Jersey.
"We have faith in the Channel Islands, and we see significant opportunities for expansion in the post-COVID pandemic world, particularly if Guernsey can move forward as a ‘virus free bubble’," he said.
"We think times are changing in how we work and how we look at our working environment. We believe that shorter terms, more flexibility and affordable yet state-of-the-art facilities that create the right environment for businesses to thrive has to be the way forward.
"We are also seeing a lot of innovative start-ups and want to be able to assist in their growth. Working with various stakeholders in Guernsey, we intend to develop a bursary which will assist start-ups not only financially but also give mentoring, advice and office space."
