Orchard MD is PR Week mentee

Orchard PR joint Managing Director Brooke Kenyon has been selected for a high profile national mentoring scheme.

The Guernsey PR professional is one of 15 women nationwide to be paired with an experienced female mentor.

It is the fourth year that the PR Week/Women in PR mentoring scheme has been run. It was designed to inspire the next generation of female PR leaders and to tackle the gender gap at the top level of the industry.

Mrs Kenyon will be mentored by independent communications professional Ginny Paton, former managing director of House PR and previously a board director at Jackie Cooper PR. She was described by the PR Week Powerbook as “among the smartest operators in hospitality and entertainment comms”.

"I’m a strong believer in continuous professional development and I’m flattered to be selected for this excellent scheme," she said.

"I’m very much looking forward to learning from Ginny, a proven leader in the communications profession and highly experienced in running successful PR agencies."

Having acquired Orchard PR last year, through a management buyout with colleague Chris Chilton, Mrs Kenyon is client services director with responsibility for managing client teams and setting the agency’s strategy. She has a degree in public relations, is a CIPR Accredited Practitioner and is on the committee of the CIPR Channel Islands group.

Previously she worked for a PR agency in London which specialised in consumer lifestyle brands.

John Harrington, Deputy Editor of PR Week, said: “Brooke was included in the scheme because she has achieved much in her career already and is seen as a potential industry star of the future.”
