New office to complement Channel Island operations

A new law firm has entered the market in the international finance centre of Bermuda.

Carey Olsen Bermuda has been established by managing partner Michael Hanson in association with leading international offshore firm Carey Olsen.

Mr Hanson said: "Bermuda is known by many as the world's insurance capital, with a world-class insurance and reinsurance market and a robust, resilient and highly regarded regulatory regime.

"In addition, however, Bermuda is also recognised as a leading offshore finance centre and is home to a wealth of world-class financial businesses and professionals.  

"I'm delighted to be opening Carey Olsen Bermuda and, in doing so, adding a new player in the provision of legal services in Bermuda."

With more than 50 partners and 200 lawyers, Carey Olsen is one of the largest international offshore law firms. It has a network of nine offices covering all time zones and key financial markets including key offices in Guernsey and Jersey.
