Redwood Offshore Limited has appointed company administration specialist Tom Cluett as Managing Director at Redwood Co Sec Limited.

“The importance of effective company secretarial administration shouldn’t be underestimated,” said Mr Cluett. “Businesses, particularly those operating in a licensed industry or environment, must ensure that they follow best practice. Good governance ensures businesses maximise opportunities while mitigating risks.

“Regulation and reporting requirements are on the increase, in many business sectors both locally and globally. Businesses must be on top of their statutory obligations.”

Mr Cluett is an experienced financial administrator having previously worked in the fiduciary sector in Guernsey. He holds an International Diploma in Financial Administration from the Institute of Administrative Management, a Diploma in Offshore Finance and Administration from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and he has also completed the Certificate in Leadership and Management with the Institute of Leadership and Management.

James Wood, Chief Executive of Redwood said: “Tom is a fantastic addition to our team. His expertise in corporate governance will be invaluable to our clients who need to ensure their company secretarial function has the appropriate qualifications, capability and relevant experience. A capable company secretary is a valuable resource and a board should use it as they navigate the current business climate with its increased focus on transparency and accountability.”
