New business conference promises sustainability wins

The first conference focusing on sustainable business practices is coming to the Channel Islands in October offering panel interviews and roundtable discussion with industry and academic leaders.

Practical advice will be offered on how to embed substantiality into corporates with advice from the University of Cambridge to the United Nations, Investec’s sustainability division, and a responsible mining firm.

It’s taking place at St Pierre Park Hotel on Tuesday 15 October between 13:34 and 19:00.  

Dr Victoria Hurth, a Fellow from Cambridge’s sustainable leadership institute will offer guidance on ESG and other operational complexities and what tools to use to transform companies in line with sustainable goals. 

Steve Kenzie, the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network UK, will put poor practices and governance in the dock explaining what needs to change to achieve sustainable development with business engagement.  

Dr Marc Kahn, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at Investec Plc, will focus on how to change business model to embed sustainability, showing how adopting these strategies can lead to improved employee and balance sheet performance.  

Estelle Levin-Nally will chair the speaker panel at the conference. She has been working in sustainability research, advisory and assurance for twenty years, beginning her career in shipbroking, gorilla conservation and international trade & development. She is CEO & Founder of advisory firm Levin Sources which, since 2010, has helped over 160 clients mine, trade, source, invest in & regulate minerals more responsibly.
