Law firm, Mourant, has launched a corporate sponsorship programme that allowed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Guernsey Branch to donate to a conservation project.
The STEP Guernsey annual conference took place last month and involved more than 160 trust and estate professionals. They gathered to listen to a line-up of speakers discuss, among other topics, gender identity in family trusts and NFTs.
Mourant provided a ‘Carbon Offset’ package for the event that allowed STEP Guernsey to donate an amount equal “in monetary terms to the amount required to offset the entire event's carbon footprint”.
John Lewis, Mourant Guernsey Managing Partner, said: "We are thrilled to be the inaugural Carbon Offset sponsor for STEP Guernsey's annual conference.
“This sponsorship aligns with our firm-wide commitment to environmental sustainability, and in particular our focus on protecting the world's ocean and our recently announced Mourant Ocean Pledge.
“We're delighted that through our support, STEP Guernsey has donated to LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES, a £2.5 million, four-year marine conservation partnership project based at five areas of conservation along the south coast of England.”
