Guernsey-based company Midshore Consulting Limited has announced the incorporation of a joint venture in the USA.
Midshore USA has been incorporated in Florida and will be operating throughout North America and the Caribbean.
It is owned by both Midshore Guernsey and Sonya Slater - formerly employed by Investec Asset Management in the global role of Head of Fund Operations.
Ms Slater was with Investec Asset Management for 34 years and held a variety of roles, including Director of management companies in both the UK and Luxembourg. In her global role, she managed teams across event jurisdictions and has been shortlisted by Investment Week for International Investment Woman of the Year.
"Having worked alongside Sonya for many years, it is a pleasure to be working with her again," said Managing Director of Midshore Guernsey, Christopher Jehan. "Our American joint venture aims to feed more US-sourced work into the island, utilising both our services and those of the local financial services sector.
"As an island, we have already seen an increase in business flows from the US and Guernsey ticks many of the boxes that the Caribbean offshore centres do not."
President of Midshore USA, Sonya Slater added:
"After a long career with one firm, the time felt right to take a break and then collaborate with Christopher to form a partnership that can create and make a real difference to investment firms that wish to utilise a practical approach that extends beyond operations, regulation, fund restructuring, distribution and governance."
