Louvre announces two senior promotions

Monday 20 May 2019

Louvre Trust (Guernsey) Limited has strengthened its senior Compliance team with the promotion of Leon Smith and Ed Riley.

Mr Smith takes a position on the Board as Fiduciary Risk & Compliance Director and Mr Riley becomes Money Laundering Compliance Officer.

Mr Smith has over 35 years of experience working in the finance industry. Having gained his International Compliance Diploma in 2005, he is now a Fellow member of the International Compliance Association. He started his career in banking before moving into compliance 15 years ago, and now has extensive experience working for both large and medium fiduciary firms in a compliance role.

Mr Riley is an experienced trust professional, having worked in the offshore wealth management sector since 2006. With more than 10 years’ experience in client-facing roles including a position on the board of the trustee, he then moved into compliance in 2016.

Mr Smith will lead the Compliance team and will manage risk for the regulated Guernsey trust business while Mr Riley takes on the responsibility of Money Laundering Compliance Officer.

Derek Baudains, Louvre Group CEO, says, “We are delighted to have made these two key promotions. Risk and Compliance is an essential part of our business and working in well-regulated jurisdictions we need to ensure we have the best people in these positions. I am delighted we have been able to promote from within and I’m looking forward to working with Leon and Ed in their new roles.”
