The award winning, Livingroom Estate Agents has officially opened in Jersey, confirming its place as the first pan-Channel Islands residential estate agent.
Founded in Guernsey in 2006 with the aim of "bringing a fresh approach to a traditional sector," the company has since won accolades including the business of the year at the Guernsey Awards for Achievement and, in 2017, the award for the world’s best estate agency marketing at the International Property Awards.
“The decision to expand is not one we’ve taken lightly,” said founder and CEO Simon Torode. “We researched the Jersey market extensively and firmly believe that our focus on client service and dedication to marketing property in an innovative way will add something to the Jersey market.”
The agency's Jersey office is at Channel House on Green Street, and already has a team of seven experienced professionals in place including estate agents, a group financial controller and a dedicated in-house creative.
Mr Torode has moved to Jersey to establish the agency’s presence on the island and manage recruitment and growth with a ‘hands-on’ approach.
Mr Torode said: “Our model is to grow Livingroom organically in Jersey, just as we did in Guernsey, and cement the business’ position as the Channel Island estate agent. Key to our ethos is our emphasis on quality creative marketing and our in-house creative talent really sets us apart from our competitors across the islands.
“Our ultimate aim is to bring inspiration to the Jersey property market. Moving home is one of the most exciting things you can do so the process should be enjoyable, not torturous. We’ve taken the first step to achieving this by putting a knowledgeable and ethical team in place who will work hard to understand what clients want and deliver on those requirements. We’re bringing quality and carefully considered customer service back to the Jersey property market.”
The Jersey launch is accompanied by a new state-of-the-art website which includes a private and secure user account section where buyers can register to receive the latest information on properties that meet their pre-set specifications.
Livingroom said vendors and landlords will also benefit from a Channel Island first – Transparent Vendor Management (TVM) - which was designed by Livingroom to communicate with clients at every stage of the process.
