Liberation Group has announced that it is disposing of the Auberge restaurant at Jerbourg - selling it to local businessman Andrew Haining.
The group said the funds secured from the sale will be re-invested as part of its broader objective of enhancing its core pub estate of 116 sites in the Channel Islands and UK.
Mr Haining is the chairman of Aurigny, Swoffers and PraxisIFM, but also a Guernsey resident who lives in close proximity to the Auberge. He said he was very familiar with the site and has expressed an interest in it for a number of years. Now, he is "looking forward to working with the team and steering the restaurant on to its next chapter".
All staff at Auberge will remain employed at the restaurant and their employment contracts will be transferred to the new owner on their existing terms together with related accommodation arrangements.
Mr Haining said: "Auberge is a fantastic business that I have always had an interest in. The restaurant is a stone’s throw from my house and I can’t wait to meet and get started working with the team. I am ambitious for the Auberge and hope to build on the success that it has had in recent years."
