Julius Baer thanks employee for 25 years

Julius Baer Guernsey has awarded employee Bobbie Odoli with additional leave to mark her 25 years of service to the company, allowing her to embark on a dream holiday.

Ms Odoli (pictured top right) and her wife are spending a month in Portugal to celebrate the milestone in her career.

Julius Baer rewards long-serving employees by granting extra paid leave or a cash award for every five years spent with the bank. As Ms Odoli joined the Swiss wealth management group’s Guernsey team in 1998, when it was an operation of just 20 people, she has accrued 15 additional days to use.

She initially worked in the bank’s booking centre, managing and administering customer accounts, before being made head of the Booking Centre and Client Documentation Services teams in 2017. In 2021 she moved into the business management team, where she works with the Chief Operating Officer to provide support for the booking centre, banking operations, IT requirements, premises management and more.

It really doesn’t feel like I’ve been here for 25 years, the time has flown by," said Ms Odoli. "I’ve always loved working at Julius Baer and have had some fantastic colleagues over the years. It’s been especially rewarding to be part of the growth we’ve undergone here in Guernsey, all culminating in moving into the amazing office space we have now at Admiral Park."

To celebrate the milestone my wife and I wanted to do something special with the extra leave. So we are going to spend four weeks in the Algarve, Portugal – driving down through France and Spain to end relaxing on the beach and by the pool, exploring, taking in the scenery, and playing quite a bit of golf," said Ms Odoli.

“We love Portugal, we came here on our honeymoon and are visiting the same area again so are looking forward to being back here for a few weeks in the sunshine. I’m really grateful to Julius Baer for the chance to take this once-in-a-lifetime holiday.”

Alexandra McInnes (pictured top left), Managing Director of Julius Baer Guernsey, praised Ms Odoli's long service:

“Bobbie has been an integral part of our team and of the growth of the Guernsey Branch over the last 25 years. This is an amazing achievement and speaks to Bobbie’s enthusiasm for the job, willingness to pursue new opportunities and eagerness for the next challenge, we’re truly thankful for her and all of our committed employees.

"We wish Bobbie all the best for a well-deserved break.”
