Iceland has confirmed that its 10 existing Channel Islands stores will remain open and there will be no job losses – but discussions are currently taking place over which brand they will operate under.
The Iceland stores – which had previously operated under an agreement with Sandpiper CI – passed to Morrisons as part of the recent sale of Sandpiper’s local franchises.

Morrisons CEO, Rami Baitiéh, said: “I am delighted that now the transaction has completed we can welcome 520 new colleagues into the Morrisons family. It’s a great business with great colleagues and we are all looking forward to the exciting next chapter.”
Iceland has revealed a new partnership with Alliance promising new Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores in Guernsey and Jersey by 2025.
Alliance’s Managing Director, Andrew Bagot, said they were “thrilled” by the move which would bring Iceland’s products to consumers in both islands.
They've already started appearing in Guernsey's Alliance store, as promoted by 'Supersavvysavers'.
“Together, we’re making it easier than ever for households in the Channel Islands to enjoy Iceland’s fantastic range from everyday essentials to seasonal favourites,” Mr Bagot said.
As franchisee, Alliance say they will now offer Iceland’s product ranges – including brands such as TGI Fridays, Greggs and My Protein – seasonal merchandise, and an extended value range in selected stores across the Channel Islands. A new The Food Warehouse is due to open in January.
Alliance currently operates five Channel Islands stores employing 160 staff.

“We’re delighted to work with Alliance to continue providing our customers in the Channel Islands with Iceland’s range of innovative, value-driven products.”
