The team at 'Supersavvysavers' have completed another comparison of supermarket prices, with Alliance beating out the others to be the cheapest when buying a basket of goods.
Using a list of staple foodstuffs, to ensure they buy the same items at each shop, the price checkers visited six local supermarkets.
With goods such as bread, eggs, cornflakes, tea bags, baked beans, pasta, and potatoes being purchased, the total price at Alliance, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose, Co-op, Morrisons, and Iceland, are compared.
Across the 25 staple items, Alliance came out the cheapest at £32.63, with Iceland the most expensive at £41.08.
The full set of prices are available on the Supersavvysavers website HERE and through the team's social media accounts.
The latest price comparison showed a change in the price comparison data with Alliance replacing M&S as the cheapest across the same basket of goods.
Supersavvysavers put this change down to Alliance importing more Sainsbury's goods for sale at affordable prices.
"We just wanted to say well done and thank you to Alliance for caring about our community," Supersavvysavers wrote on Facebook.
"They could have charged whatever they wanted by introducing Sainsbury's yet they chose to lower their prices.
"Thank you Alliance!"
