HSBC has appointed a new Head of Wealth Distribution for the Crown Dependencies.
Richard Cannard has more than 30 years' experience with HSBC. He previously led the bank's expatriate business in the UK and Europe.
The bank said that Mr Cannard's new role would make him "responsible for the premier and wealth teams across the islands, ensuring that customers are provided with the best level of service whilst further developing HSBC’s wealth proposition to meet the ever-increasing needs of customers".
He succeeds Simon Lidbury, who was recently appointed as Market Head for International Clients, Global Private Banking.
Emma Bunnell, CEO and Head of Wealth and Personal Banking in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: "Richard is a passionate leader and has a relentless focus for our customers.
"I'm delighted that he will now lead our wealth business across the three islands through the next phase of our growth plans.
"Thanks to his extensive experience of strengthening HSBC's wealth proposition, Richard is perfectly suited to ensure our clients' needs are met to the highest possible standard."
Mr Cannard's other previous roles with HSBC include as Head of Premier and Wealth, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, and having responsibility for regulated risk and transformation teams, where he oversaw changes in how the bank provided financial advice to customers in the islands and the UK.
