Victim Support and Witness Service to benefit from two years of charitable trust support

Friday 19 April 2024

The Canaccord Genuity Wealth Charitable Trust has announced a partnership with the Bailiwick of Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service.

They have made a two-year pledge to provide financial and volunteer support for this Guernsey charity.

The Charitable Trust is celebrating two decades of community support in 2024 and has provided more than £460,000 to charities across Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Jersey since it was established.

Jenny Murphy of the Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service, said the charity was deeply grateful for Canaccord’s commitment.

“The Bailiwick of Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service offers a lifeline to those whose lives may have been changed by a crime.  In 2022, 292 victims and 224 witnesses were supported. Canaccord’s support will enable us to continue to empower victims and witnesses on their journey towards justice and healing”, she said.

Chair of the Canaccord Genuity Charitable Trust, Eilish Brenock, said: “We have chosen an exceptional charity in each of the islands in which we operate, nominated by Canaccord staff who felt strongly that each deserves wider recognition for the work they do - and we’ll be providing both financial and practical support to them.”

Head of Wealth Management in Guernsey, Chris Colclough said: “Going the extra mile in such an important year for us is a great way to celebrate the Charitable Trust’s 20th Anniversary.  We hope our partnership will allow the charity to continue making a difference to those in most need of support. I am encouraging all our staff to get behind the celebrations – either through fundraising, volunteering, or buying treats from the inevitable bake sales.”
