Joanne Peacegood has joined Guernsey Electricity’s board as a Non-Executive Director.
Working with the executive management team, Mrs Peacegood will support the company in developing Guernsey Electricity’s strategy and ensuring it is ready to play a leading role in delivering the island’s future energy transition.
Bringing over 20 years’ business experience to the role, Mrs Peacegood previously worked for a professional services firm as an audit engagement leader, risk and quality director and innovation and technology leader. She also sits on the board of a listed solar energy company that owns around 100 solar farms in the UK.
"The broad skills that I have built during my career will be hugely relevant to helping Guernsey Electricity navigate the challenges that the company and energy sector face," she said.
"Managing risk will be key for the board as the energy market is dynamic in nature, but Guernsey Electricity is well placed to navigate the challenges it faces. I understand the energy sector and am looking forward to growing my knowledge to provide the best possible support to the Guernsey Electricity team and wider community."
Guernsey Electricity CEO Alan Bates said: "Joanne’s business experience and involvement within the energy sector provides her with a unique insight with which to offer the leadership team advice and guidance. The next few years are critical as the Island gears up to deliver on the Energy Policy and achieve net zero carbon by 2050.
"Excellent governance and advice from industry experts will help Guernsey Electricity play a strategic role in achieving these ambitious goals for the island."
