Guernsey businessman recognised for long service

An oven valeting specialist based in Guernsey is celebrating 15 years of successful business.

Chris Robilliard bought Ovenu Guernsey back in 2004 and has spent years building up a loyal client base.

Over his time at the business, Mr Robilliard has cleaned more than 10,000 ovens and has even been presented with a commemorative pin to mark the company's long service.

"Business is consistently good," he said. "I usually have around 100 bookings confirmed at any one time and I have a lot of repeat customers. The most important part of the job is seeing the smile on customers' faces when they see how clean their oven is. This is how you develop a good reputation - through word of mouth and happy clients recommending the service.

"It gets particularly busy and Christmas time and this is when you must be really dedicated and enjoy hard work. The best part about running an Ovenu franchise is that no two days are the same, I get to meet some fantastic people in a variety of places from castles to bungalows.

Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses throughout the UK.

"I am extremely proud to see so many franchisees committed to Ovenu and providing a quality service across the UK," said Manager Director and Founder, Rik Hellewell. "It demonstrates the sustainability and confidence in the brand and business model."

Ovenu cleaners have to dismantle key components like the oven door, interior panels, fan and shelves, and put them in design-registered tank equipment. The whole process takes around three to four hours, targeting the oven itself, hob and exterior.
