Global accreditation for local course

Wednesday 08 February 2023

Channel Island advisory firm UN1TY.gg has received accreditation for its sustainability focused programme, the Carbon Literacy Course which launched this month.

The course was written to help individuals and companies better understand the CO2 costs and impacts of their everyday activities so they can better manage and reduce them to help tackle climate change.

The course has been accredited by the internationally recognised Carbon Literacy Project.

It noted that the program “is well tailored to the target audience, is full of inspiring examples and engaging activities - it should lead to some really impactful action".

UN1TY is the first to gain this accreditation in the Channel Islands. Rollo de Sausmarez, who leads its sustainability advisory said:

“Olivia Bennett has done an excellent job of writing a course that delivers the basics of climate change science, showing how our actions affect it, as well as explaining what’s already happening globally & locally. Most importantly, the course gives students some of the knowledge and proven tools to reduce their impact.”

Successful students are awarded an internationally recognised Carbon Literate Individual certificate at the end of the course, which is delivered over two half day sessions, in person, in Guernsey.
