Deadline nears for Startup Pitch applications

Startup Guernsey and Barclays Eagle Labs are hosting the second Guernsey Startup Pitch Competition in November, with applications closing on Monday, 1 October.

The event, which will take place at 18:00 on 13 November at the Digital Greenhouse, is taking part during Global Entrepreneurship Week, which celebrates entrepreneurs around the world.

Five companies will be selected to pitch their ideas, and will receive coaching before the event. The winning pitches will then receive a £500 prize each for the most investable business idea and best pitch on the night. Prize money and sponsorship are provided by Barclays Eagle Labs.

Gez Overstall from Barclays Eagle Labs said: “Supporting start-up businesses is a very important to Barclays Eagle Labs. We aim to create an environment where entrepreneurs can access support and advice to enable them to succeed and grow. Pitch events like this one are great experience and a good testing ground for new ideas.”

Applications close at midnight, 1 October with a shortlist then to be selected by Startup Guernsey and Barclays Eagle Labs. Successful applicants will be notified by 5 October.
