Condor Ferries is working with the local branch of a UK cancer support charity through its Community Fund to help Islanders living with the disease.

With a grant from the Fund, Look Good Feel Better has been able to provide free workshops and classes at the Castel Douzaine Room in Les Beaucamps with a focus on helping attendees with their wellbeing and self-confidence.

Condor’s Community Fund was originally established in 2019 and supports Islanders who give up their time to develop community activities. The Fund sees numerous applications from across the Islands with a focus on sustainability, local benefit and enjoyment for others.

Greg Yeoman, Condor’s Commercial Director, said this donation funded four classes in Guernsey and Jersey which were offered free of charge, with trained volunteers offering practical advice on individuals’ changes to skin, eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, nails and body confidence.

"I am sure all of us knows someone who has been impacted by cancer so it was gratifying for us to support the charity and observe the commendable work carried out in our communities."

Michele Fraser, Trusts and Foundations Officer at the charity was delighted with the donation.

"Living with cancer can be emotionally challenging for anyone so these workshops are invaluable in providing practical and emotional support to women, men and young adults of all ages. The sessions are run by beauty and health volunteers and designed to help people feel themselves again so we are grateful to Condor for their generosity."
