CBO’s director of Project Services, Ed Mason-Smith, has been appointed to the UK-wide Association for Project Management (APM) Assurance SIG Committee for 2022/23.

The Committee’s aim is to become the national source for the development, support and promotion for the project assurance profession. Its mission is to provide leadership through exchanging ideas, sharing good practice, and developing new approaches to providing project assurance.

As part of the committee, Mr Mason-Smith will work with senior professionals across the project profession including; academia, Network Rail, TfL, and the UK Government’s Infrastructure and Project Authority.

He has also been reappointed to the local Association for Project Management Channel Islands committee for which he has been an active member for the past three years.

“I believe that quality Project Management, aligned to best practice, is critical to the success of businesses and the wider economy. The APM Assurance SIG Committee is, in my view, fundamental to increasing the understanding and project assurance and improving overall quality in project delivery,” said Mr Mason-Smith.

“By sitting on the Assurance Committee, I will be able to directly influence the APM and Project Management community to collectively improve this quality.”
