The first gala in aid of Citizens' Advice Guernsey, sponsored by Carey Olsen, is to be held on 19 October at The Farmhouse Hotel.
The Friends of Citizens' Advice will host the black-tie event, which will include a three-course meal and live music, followed by a raffle and an auction.
Tom Carey, Managing Partner of Carey Olsen Guernsey, said they are really pleased to be involved.
"We are delighted to support Friends of Citizens' Advice in hosting their first gala to raise money for Citizens' Advice Guernse," he said. "The charity provides an essential and valuable service to many islanders and we want to do what we can to raise awareness that this service is free and available to everyone."
Ali Marquis, CEO of Citizens' Advice Guernsey, said the money raised by the gala event will be put to very good use.
"The work of Citizens Advice Guernsey would not be possible if it wasn’t for the assistance of the Friends of Citizens Advice, raising much needed funds. The Gala ball later this year will boost their fundraising efforts to ensure our valued and dedicated team of volunteers can continue to provide free, confidential, and impartial advice. Whoever you are, whatever the problem, we’re here to help find a way forward."
Alison Vine, Chairman of Friends of Citizens Advice Guernsey, said she is really looking forward to the black-tie night.
"We are enormously excited about the Gala, which promises to be an enjoyable night. This is the first ball we have held, and we hope it will be the first of many. We have had a lot of very generous prizes donated and we hope, in addition to being fun, it will raise a lot of much needed money for Guernsey Citizens Advice. We are very grateful to Carey Olsen for their support of the Gala and for the encouragement and work they do for Citizens Advice."
