Lawyers from leading offshore law firm Carey Olsen have contributed the Guernsey and Jersey chapters to the second edition of The Law of Hedge Funds: A Global Perspective.
The book, which is co-authored by Simmons & Simmons partner Dale Gabbert and DLA Piper partner Andrew Wylie, is regarded as one of the most up to date and comprehensive books about the global hedge fund industry.
Carey Olsen Partner Tom Carey and Senior Associate Matthew Brehaut have penned the book's Guernsey chapter, while Partner Robert Milner has written the Jersey section.
Published by LexisNexis, the book has been created with the aim of being a helpful reference for practitioners and general counsel, as well as people outside the industry who wish to understand what hedge funds are and the key issues surrounding them.
Mr Carey said: "The book is an invaluable reference tool to the global hedge fund industry and I'm pleased Matthew and I were able to contribute by writing the Guernsey chapter. The fact that Carey Olsen was selected to submit both chapters for the Channel Islands underlines the firm's position as the go-to legal adviser for funds in Guernsey and Jersey."
Mr Milner added: "The Law of Hedge Funds is a practical and user-friendly guide to the world of hedge funds and all the relevant legal aspects involved. I was delighted to have been asked to provide the Jersey chapter and to play a part in the book coming to fruition."
