Butterfield Bank in Guernsey has made two senior appointments with more than 35 years of experience in the financial services sector between them.
Tim Landon has been appointed as a senior manager in the wealth management team, while Barney Lewis is now a senior relationship manager in fiduciary banking.
Mr Lewis said: "It’s an exciting time to join Butterfield. The Bank has made a clear statement of intent to develop the fiduciary banking business in Guernsey. Butterfield is perfectly placed to service the local fiduciary industry and we look forward to working with Guernsey firms."
An associate member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, Mr. Lewis has worked in the finance sector for 17 years. In his new role, he will cover day-to-day banking as well as the investment management and lending requirements of his clients. He will also manage a team of five in Butterfield’s fiduciary banking team, providing services for a range of intermediary relationships.
Mr Landon said: "Business development is the focus in my new role, and I’m excited to be able to use my 20 years of industry experience and strong relationships from working in jurisdictions from Asia, the Middle East, Guernsey, Europe and Africa to support Butterfield’s objectives."
Before joining Butterfield Mr Landon oversaw a team of private bankers as executive private banker (head of private wealth management – private bankers) at Kleinwort Hambros Channel Islands. In this role, Mr. Landon also implemented business strategies to achieve annual targets.
Richard Saunders, managing director at Butterfield, said: "Tim’s and Barney’s expertise, gained over three decades, will be invaluable as Butterfield continues to enhance the services we offer clients and develop the business."
