BNP Paribas backs the Sarah Groves Foundation

Friday 15 February 2019

The Sarah Groves Foundation says it has made an excellent start to 2019's fundraising efforts with a charitable donation of £3500 from BNP Paribas and their generous staff.

Throughout 2018, staff donated funds on a monthly basis through the bank’s payroll giving initiative and through various fund raising activities for their chosen charity for the year.

As well as staff donations and fund raisers, an additional amount came from a generous top up from the bank itself.

Vic Groves from the Foundation, said;

“We are thrilled that the Sarah Groves Foundation was selected as the charity of choice in 2018 and we thank the bank and everyone for contributing to and raising such a wonderful sum of money.  I can confirm that the donation is hugely appreciated and will be used to further the mission statement of the Sarah Groves Foundation: ‘Enhancing Young Lives’.

"It is a highly satisfying characteristic of the Sarah Groves Foundation that we are not just known to the people of Guernsey but also to the people of Jersey.  The tragedy that lies behind the Foundation has been followed by everyone in the Channel Islands and the immense level of support we receive, as Sarah’s parents and as Trustees of the Foundation is truly appreciated and is a great source of strength for us.”

BNPP Branch Manager Paul Duquemin said;

“My thanks go to my team and to everyone at the bank for their generosity and support throughout the year.  Here in Guernsey, I am especially proud of the support shown for myself and for two other members of staff, Katy Hodgetts and Peter Browning, who trained for and took part in the Foundation’s Tour de Sez 2018 fund raiser, which saw 85 people complete a 750 mile cycle ride from St Malo to Amsterdam in September.

"It was an amazing challenge, an incredible team effort by an inspiring group of people and a fantastic way in which to meet new friends, keep fit and raise additional funds in order for the Foundation to continue its great work.”
