Applications open for Saffery Rotary proceeds

Wednesday 01 November 2023

Organisers are now taking applications from local Bailiwick charities and not-for-profits to benefit from a share of the cash raised for next year’s Saffery Rotary Walk.

It follows a record-breaking year in 2023 where over £100,000 was raised and distributed to 25 organisations.

Applications are sought from a broad spectrum of local charities, benefitting members of the wider community across a range of sectors, including social care, sport, healthcare, arts, leisure and more.

Those interested in funds need to apply by 30 November, with a form setting out the items or projects which must have a measurable defined outcome in line with charitable objectives. This could include a campaign, new equipment, or facility improvements. Cash for general administration or overheads will not be considered.

Walk Chairman, Simon Milsted, said: The Walk is such an integral event for our island. Not only are charities and not-for-profit organisations provided with the opportunity to receive much needed funding, but our walkers are presented with a chance to support a variety of local causes whilst tackling the personal challenge of the 39-mile route.

“We look forward to welcoming back walkers from previous years and to seeing some new faces in 2024. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and dedication demonstrated by our walkers, and from our longstanding main sponsors, Saffery Trust.”

Saffery Trust Director, Lisa Vizia added: “The charities and not-for-profit organisations that we support each year play such an integral role within our community. The work they do is truly fantastic."

Forms can be filled out and submitted online, while hard copies can also be downloaded or collected from Saffery Trust’s office at La Tonnelle House, Les Banques, St Sampsons, and posted in.

The Walk itself is scheduled for Saturday 8 June 2024.
