Applications open for PraxisIFM bursary

PraxisIFM's annual Bursary Award is now open to applications from students who want support through their degree and workplace experience.

It's a scheme now in its fifth year and is open to all Guernsey-resident prospective students.

The winning applicant can join PraxisIFM throughout the summer on a paid work experience placement, and receive a £2,500 bursary to support any three-year degree.

Zachary Ellis received the 2020 prize and used it to support his engineering studies at Oxford University.

"I think a lot of parallels can be drawn between engineering and the finance sector," he said.

"The finance sector and how it operates is something that appeals to my interests and I wanted to learn more about it."

Any student with an interest or curiosity in finance or the bursary are asked to apply.

"We're very passionate about facilitating learning and development opportunities for our team and that extends to young people in the community," said Group Head of Human Resources, Sharon Coburn.

"Many employers look for graduates with relevant work experience and we feel it's important as a large local employer to act as an enabler," she said.
