Phase Four’s ‘cautious steps towards the new normal’ are explained in the fifth States of Alderney Covid-19 newsletter being delivered door-to-door on June 2 and 3.
It explains how the two types of social distancing – in ‘controlled’ and ‘uncontrolled’ environments – can operate to enable meticulous track and trace measures to prevent the virus taking hold in the Bailiwick again.
The former applies when people gather in public places such as restaurants or for group activities and involves keeping records so that anyone can be traced in the event of a positive test.
It celebrates the fact that shops, restaurants, cafés and bars are opening again but warns that we cannot be complacent.
It also contains a detailed Q&A on travel and visitors to Alderney, news from the Mignot Memorial Hospital, a spotlight on Boardman’s Pharmacy and how the States Operations Teams are finding new ways of working to the Island’s benefit.
A message from the President, William Tate, says ‘the battle is almost won but the war goes on’. This edition is the fifth in a series of informative Covid-19 newsletters for all Alderney residents. The full newsletter contents can be viewed with this press release.
