Whilst Aurigny flights to and from the islands carry few passengers, the Dornier operation in and out of Alderney is still vital to the island and its residents.

Each weekday, Aurigny deliver crucial supplies, including the mail, freight and pathology boxes required for essential medical reasons.

Staff not doing their day jobs are helping in the Community as Aurigny Aid by assisting with grocery deliveries for Le Cocq Stores, to those self-isolating or the elderly who are not able to get out and do their shopping at this time.

Aurigny also continues to operate a non Covid related Medivac service between Alderney and Guernsey. On Saturday 18 April Captain P Sarl and N Brock operated a Medivac from Alderney to Guernsey despite the airport not being open for passenger flights. This was a great team effort between the two airports and Aurigny.

Mark Darby, CEO said: “I am proud of all our staff and how they have coped at this time. Those living in Alderney must feel even more isolated, so it is great to know our staff and the services they are providing are making such a difference to those in that part of our Bailiwick.”

Aurigny would once again like to thank our customers and staff for their support and patience during this extraordinary time.  We look forward to doing what we do best and running a community airline as soon as circumstances allow.
