Whilst most businesses on the island have been slowing down, and in some cases grinding to a halt, one local business is busier than ever.
Sanondaf is a patented touchless disinfection service which began in Malta in 2008. It was created out of necessity for use in a medical setting and has grown substantially since then and now operates in 10 countries.
Local businessman Doug Wilson brought the system to the Channel Islands in 2017.
"The Sanondaf system is absolutely world-class. We operate in multiple NHS trusts throughout the UK, as well as the residential care, hospitality, education, fitness, veterinary and commercial sectors. We are able to safely and efficiently disinfect every exposed surface in any given room, including electrical equipment. This is simply not possible using traditional cleaning methods," says Doug.
"We use patented fogging machines and electrostatic sprayers to completely fill a room with our chemical. It gets absolutely everywhere: the floor, the walls, the undersides of any furniture and in all the nooks and crannies. It's really efficient and rooms are safe to enter either 30 minutes or 2 hours later, depending on which machine we use."
Unsurprisingly, the Sanondaf service has been in great demand over the past 2 months, and not just in the Channel Islands.
"The entire network is flat out at the moment. Even though most businesses are in lockdown, the critical infrastructure such as doctor's surgeries, hospitals, supermarkets, schools and utility providers are up and running. We are proud to be involved in making the working environment safe for essential workers."
