Guernsey’s bowlers continue to make the most of their knowledge of the home carpet at The Indoor Bowls Stadium.

Rose Ogier and Jason Greenslade maintained their 100% records in the singles with their third wins yesterday.

It was a day that also produced a big shock when Namibian husband and wife Yvonne and Carel Aron Oliver beat top Australian pair Samantha Atkinson and Ray Pearce.

Ogier sits top of section 5 on nine points with two more group games to go today and tomorrow.

She beat Yvonne Olivier (Namibia) 5-4, 14-7.

England’s Rebecca McMillan is also unbeaten in that section, seeing off Sandra Bailie (Ireland) on a tie break yesterday.

Ogier and McMillan play tomorrow at 3.15pm.

Greenslade is also sitting top of his section on nine points after beating Beat Matti (Switzerland) 10-1, 7-5.

Ogier and Greenslade have also teamed up for the mixed pairs, where they now have two wins on the board with victory yesterday against Japan’s Keiko Kurohara and Hisaharu Satou (11-3, 3-11, 1-0).

In section two of the mixed, Alison Merrien is playing with Sweden’s Olle Backgren. They lost their opening game of the week, but since than are unbeaten, including winning against Petal and grandson Jordy Jones yesterday (9-3, 10-3).

Also in their section, the Jersey pair of Lindsey Greechan and Derek Boswell dropped their first game yesterday, losing to Nor Farrah Ain Abdullah and Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple (Malaysia) 5-9, 5-6

It leaves Sweden/Guernsey; Jersey and Malaysian pairs all tied on six points so far.
