Women’s basketball enters new era

Jenny Murphy has been appointed to be head coach of the Guernsey women’s basketball team.

She brings with her coaching and playing experience, having represented Guernsey in inter-insulars and Island Games.

“I am humbled and thrilled to be chosen as the Head Coach for the Guernsey Women’s Basketball Team,” she said.

“I am passionate about the game and dedicated to empowering players to be the best they can be, both individually and as a team. I’m excited to embark on this next chapter alongside the team, building on their recent success at the Guernsey Island Games.” 

Murphy replaces Patrick Ogier, who held the job for over 20 years.

The team won bronze at the Guernsey Island Games and have won 21 matches in a row against Jersey.
