The Guernsey Sports Commision has revealed who is on the shortlist for its annual Sporting Achievement Awards.

They will celebrate standout performances from 2023 and the event organisers and coaches that provided the platform across different categories.

The highest accolade is the Outstanding Performer of the Year.

Lucy Beere (bowls), Alastair Chalmers (athletics) , Megan Chapple (triathlon), Sam Culverwell (cycling), Maya Le Tissier (football), Josh Lewis (triathlon), Orla Rabey (swimming) and Alex Scott (football) have been named on the shortlist for that.

The Island Games 2023 has made a clear mark on this year’s nominations, with teams, individuals and organisers involved in the event all featuring heavily.

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 11 January at Beau Sejour.

For outstanding sporting achievement by a Guernsey resident boy or girl aged aged between 11 years and 18.
