Heather Watson’s bid to make the main draw in the French Open singles collapsed at a soggy Roland Garros yesterday.
Having lost the first set in her game with Antonia Ruzic 6-3, she fought back to level the match, taking the second set 7-5.
Watson then went 4-0 down in the decisive third, before breaking her opponent's serve to give her hope.
A short rain delay interrupted the match and Ruzic broke Watson's serve to stretch away before holding her own to secure the tie.
