Sam Merson, son of Arsenal legend Paul, scored four as Hanworth Villa ensured it was a miserable night for Guernsey FC.
He also was at the heart of the away side’s other goal as they ran away with the match 5-0.
It took just two minutes for Merson to get on the scoreboard, his deflected shot looping over debutant goalkeeper Christian Povall.
As the clock ticked on to 45 minutes the game was put beyond the Green Lions with a double blow.
They lost the ball in midfield and Merson was played in the edge of the area, he then curled the ball into the top corner.
Hanworth won the ball back from the kick-off, a cross into the box was left by both GFC centrebacks and Merson hit a first time volley for his hat-trick.
Merson turned provider for Villa’s fourth, letting the ball drop over his shoulder, hitting an inch perfect pass which was met with a first time strike from Sam Mead.
Then came Merson’s fifth, this time from the corner of the six-yard box.
Guernsey FC travel to Uxbrdige on Saturday, looking to snap a three match losing streak, a game that clashes with Guernsey’s Muratti semi-final against Alderney.
