Guernsey FC continue to look nervously over their shoulder as the fight to stay in the Isthmian South Central goes on after Southall were the latest visitors to leave with all three points.
The game turned during an added minute at the end of the first half, when Brandon Matthew lifted a kindly bouncing ball over John Addison.
It was a sickening blow for a GFC side that had played well up to that point.
Another was to come.
The Green Lion's carved out their best chance of the game, only to see the Southall keeper hold on to Sam Murray's effort and then immediately launch a long ball which led to a corner.
Romey Eccles-Meodad made space for himself in the box and headed home from the near post to make it 2-0 on 54 minutes. Southall put the game out of sight on 73 minutes from a similar routine, this time from the other side of the pitch.
Matthew was the recipient this time for his second on the night.
GFC have a four point gap to Binfield in the drop zone, who themselves have been on good form in the run-in and have every chance of winning tonight to close the gap further.
The Green Lions have three games to go and play Northwood at Footes Lane on Sunday.
