Guernsey FC let a chance to leapfrog their opponents Metropolitan Police go begging as they came unstuck in the second half on the road.
Charlton Gauvain had put the Green Lions ahead on 40 minutes, his sixth goal in as many games, and reward for a fluid first half attacking performance by the Sarnians.
But two set pieces were enough to win the game for the hosts.
They won a disputed free-kick nine minutes onto the second half. Mason Galloway stepped up to put the ball over the wall and past the keeper.
And six minutes later Ben Mendoza's corner sailed straight in.
There was plenty more action to come at both ends of the pitch, including a sending off for captain Jamies Dodd, but the scoreboard remained untouched.
GFC are now 17th in the Isthmian South Central.
