Guernsey FC’s win against bottom club Corinthian Casuals saw them chalk up their 1,000th league goal.
The 4-0 victory continues a fine run of form which has pulled the Green Lions well clear of the relegation battle they had been threatened with getting swallowed up in during the first half of the season, even as they have seen home fixtures lost to the wet weather.
Matt Loaring tapped in at the far post after Niall Hainswroth's low delivery to open the scoring on 17 minutes.
They went two up just a couple of minutes into the second half, when Charlton Gauvain turned in what was the club's 1,000th league goal.
Brandon Wallace was brought on in the 88th minute and was straight into the action, sending a shot over the crossbar with his first touch.
It was a sign of things to come, when he stroked home a rebound from a Ross Allen effort to register his first goal for the Green Lions.
Wallace then played a big part in the fourth, his effort was saved by the goalkeeper but only as far as Loaring, who scored his second of the match.
Loaring now sits on 99 goals for GFC.
