Alex Scott entered this new season wanting to push on after his debut Premier League campaign.
The early signs are encouraging after he started Bournemouth’s opening clash away at Nottingham Forest.
His side secured a 1-1 draw thanks to a late equaliser by Antoine Semenyo.
Scott was one the Cherries' highest rated players as he played for 63 minutes in central defensive midfield position.
He created one chance in that time, while completing 19 out of 21 passes.
Chris Wood gave the hosts the lead from close range in the first-half, before Dango Ouattara had a goal disallowed.
With four minutes to go, Semenyo rifled in from close range to secure the Cherries’ first point of the new season.
Bournemouth play Newcastle next weekend, when there is likely to be a debut for the £40m. club record signing Evanilson.
The Brazilian striker was not registered in time to feature against Forest.
