More than 100 people have signed up for this year’s Mind 10k, the annual race that raises money for Guernsey Mind.
The organisers are predicting a record turnout, while reminding people that there’s still time to sign up and pre-order a t-shirt.
“Every year we’re conscious about sustainability and although a number of runners love getting a t-shirt at every event, we aim to reduce waste and let the runners choose if they’d like one with their preferred size. This change allows us to be more environmentally aware,” said Guernsey Mind’s Communications and Events Lead, Amanda Hibbs.
The event is being supported by Investec and the firm’s sponsorship co-ordinator, Anna Malcolm, said: “The beauty of this event is it appeals to all ages so whether you’re new to running, want to move up from 5K to 10K, smash your personal best or team up with a buddy to tackle the distance together, it’s a hugely rewarding experience.
“It’s not just the running though. Our people have been happy to offer help as volunteer marshals for the event to ensure it runs smoothly on the big day.”
People have until 12 August to sign up, and the event is on 8 September.
