Guernsey’s table tennis players will be looking to make it five consecutive gold medals in the team event when they compete in the Natwest International Island Games.

Players will also be eyeing up individual and doubles success at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre at the Hougue du Pommier.

The men’s squad has been confirmed as Ben Foss, Garry Dodd, Joshua Stacey and Lawrence Stacey.

Alice Edwards, Dawn Morgan, Kay Chivers and Shelby Timms will form the women’s quartet.

Meet the team:

Ben Foss: Third Island Games after making his debut in Gotland 2017. Won a men's doubles bronze medal in 2019 with Garry Dodd.

Garry Dodd: Reigning Guernsey and Channel Island Champion in men's singles. Seventh Games, debuted in Rhodes in 2007. 18 medals, including five golds.

Joshua Stacey: Fourth Games, debuted in Jersey 2015.

Lawrence Stacey: Third Games, debuted in Gotland 2017.

Alice Edwards: Debut in Rhodes 2007, winning Women's Singles and Doubles gold medals on her 13th birthday. She last competed when she again won gold in Jersey 2015 and has recently returned from a break from the sport

Shelby Timms: 16 years old, debut. Current under-18 Girls Island Champion. 

Dawn Morgan: Guernsey's most decorated Island Games player with a tally of 32 medals in team, singles and doubles events.

Kay Chivers: 17-time Island Women's champion, most recently in 2018. A return to the Island Games team having last competed in 2009 in Aland.

Team Captain: Joshua Butler.

The table tennis takes place from 9am to 7pm on  Sunday 9, Monday 10  and Tuesday 11 and 9am to 12.30pm on Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 and Friday 14 July.

Medals will be awarded on every day apart from Sunday.
