Maya Le Tissier has been called into the England squad for their next European qualifying matches.
The Manchester United defender’s chance comes after a calf injury to Chelsea full-back Niamh Charles forced her to withdraw.
Le Tissier was originally named on the reserve list.
The 23-player England squad arrived at St George’s Park on Monday as they face successive fixtures against the French.
Birmingham City goalkeeper Lucy Thomas has also joined the squad on standby.
She replaces Kayla Rendell, who is recuperating from an ankle injury.

England host France at St James' Park on Friday at 8pm.
They then travel to Saint Etienne on Tuesday 4 June.
A 1-1 draw with Sweden and a 2-0 win against the Republic of Ireland means the Lionesses have four points from their opening two games to sit second in Group Three.
France are top with two wins.
The top two sides in the four-team group qualify automatically for Euro 2025 in Switzerland, with the other teams going into the play-offs.
